After much fretting and (not so) patiently waiting to see if she would recover from a farrier induced lameness, Lexi is sound and back in work. YAY! I have a lesson opening for a young rider or small adult who would like to learn dressage or balance seat on this mare. She is a dream to ride and has a lot to teach about sensitivity and feel.

HTF is a small, relaxed, private facility offering personalized full board in St. Johns County, FL. We provide the kind of care that we would want our own horses to get — intelligent, attentive, thoughtful and kind. We like for our boarders to know that even when they can't be here, their horses will be well cared for. We have 5 stalls, tack room, 100 x 200 fenced arena, grass pastures and good size turnout paddocks.

Full board includes:

• 12x12 solid, safe, stalls with paddocks.
• Stalls cleaned 2x daily.
• Fresh bedding added weekly.
• High quality feed and hay. We use top of the line name brand grains, and timothy/alfalfa hay.
• Turnout daily (weather permitting).
• Pasture mate match. Your horse is only turned out with compatible company.
• Night checks.
• Routine (6 week rotation) worming.
  Included in your board. We don't use feed-through wormers as there is evidence to suggest that parasites develop resistance with that program. We supplement the normal rotation with full spectrum wormers 2x annually. We administer, you only have to pay actual cost of the (full spectrum) wormers.
• Colic prevention program.
  Our colic prevention program consists of ample amounts of high quality HAY. It is the single most effective way of preventing sand colic in horses according to current research. This same research indicates that feeding psyllium is ineffective at best (wheat bran even worse). We also insure that horses are fed hay before grain for ulcer prevention, have ample fresh, clean water at all times, and that any abnormal behavior is closely monitored.
• Blankets on and off. You provide, we use as needed. One of the advantages of living here with a small herd is we don't have to fit blankets/sheets into a schedule. If it is going to be cold at night, but is still warm at dinner time, we can blanket at night check.
• Schedule and attend routine veterinary and farrier care at no extra charge. (You pay the actual service bill.) We understand that you can't always be here for shots and shoeing so we can attend to their routine care. (We are also lucky enough to have one of the best farriers in NE Florida.)
• Fenced 100x200 arena.
• Tack room with electric and lock.
• Owner w/ 25 years experience on premises.
• Board: $475.00.
  Proof of up to date vaccinations and coggins are required before horse will be allowed on property. Vaccinations and coggins must be kept current throughout your stay for the safety of your horse and ours.
• Training Board: $850.00.
  This usually amounts to a combination of rides / lunge / ground work / lessons 4-5 times per week and the horse getting the same routine day to day ground manners training we give our own horses. As each horse and rider partnership is unique, programs are designed with the owner to suit their individual needs.
