We do! MeetCounterclaim. A young stallion from Flying Colors Farm. We were really struck by this guy's movement, substance and yeah, I'll admit it... color (and promise of a spotted baby!). We are breeding Peg to him this year. Can't wait to see how it turns out... only 11 or so months left in the countdown. ;)

Thoughts from Hawks Trace. Some of our experiences with horse keeping. Health issues, nutrition. Frequently over the last year, we have laminitis on our minds and hearts. This is one of the most challenging problems you and your horse may ever face. While watching Barbaro fight his way back from a broken leg, we also saw our own mare stricken with this painful and debilitating disease. The cause? Age related metabolic disorder combined with a farrier nailing soles too tight to her sole. The result was the equivilent of road founder. Learn more here.
