Yearling Days Ahead. Time flies and with a birthday coming on April 2nd, Sierra is just about a yearling. We are amazed by how big she's gotten! I haven't sticked her, but the tape has her at about 15.3 at the hip. It certainly has been an experience raising a foal. Visit Sierra's Page and s ee a ton of her pics up on Flickr.
Peg is due April 14th. After so much waiting, these last few weeks are moving both too fast and too slow if that makes any sense at all. It's nice to see that Schroeder is doing so well and last year's foals are gorgeous. Tick. Tick. Tick. :D
Not breeding this year. Despite the addicting nature of breeding, we are giving Peggy, ourselves, and the bank account a rest. With the economy the way it is and a full barn, this seemed to be the perfect time to let everyone chill and settle in. I'll be rebacking, if you can call her being ridden 5 times backed (lol!); Peggy once the new foal is weaned. I'm going to see if I can turn her into a nice steady eddy kind of horse. She certainly has the personality for it. |
